On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:
king of kings and lord of lords.Well,
the coronation of King Charles lll is almost upon us. He has waited a long time
for this day, and I am sure we will all be praying that God blesses their
reign.
I
have read and heard that certain people are encouraging folks to pledge
allegiance to Charles during the ceremony. Sorry! I have already pledged
allegiance to my King, and it is non-negotiable.
When
Jesus comes with King of Kings and Lord of Lords written on His thigh, I will
celebrate His coming with all the other children of God. Bought by the blood of
Jesus we will be welcomed with open arms when He takes His throne
What
a day that will be and people like those who think we should be giving our
allegiance to Charles. I am sure that, being his mother’s son, he will not be
asking for this privilege.
On
Radio 4's Today
programme. The King’s friend and
biographer Mr Jonathan Dimbleby has said.
A
pledge of allegiance by members of the public during the Coronation would
likely be considered "abhorrent" by King Charles.
"I
can think of nothing that he would find more abhorrent," he told "He
has never wanted to be revered. He has never wanted, so far as I know, to have
anyone paying homage to him except in mock terms as a joke."
The
broadcaster suggested the oath was a "well-intentioned but rather
ill-advised" initiative by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Rev
Justin Welby. The archbishop insisted it was a "collaborative"
decision when asked whether he had "gone rogue".
"There
is no individual who can claim credit for this service," he told the BBC. Lambeth Palace has previously defended
the decision following a backlash on social media.
Prayer
Lord
Jesus, as our King of Kings we bring to You Charles and Camilla as they
approach their earthly coronation. We ask that through You, the Father will
grant them wisdom and health in their reign. We pray that they may reign in
Your service as Charles’ mother queen Elizabeth ll did in her reign. May they
serve You faithfully with truth and courage. You are The Sovereign Lord God who
governs over all creation, and we pledge ourselves to Your service through
Jesus Your beloved Son. Amen
