Ephesians 6:10-12

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

Put on the full armour of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Charles Spurgeon said, “Believers must never adjust the bible to the age, but the age to the bible.”

If we look around, we can see that the bible is not only being adjusted to suit the age, but also changed in ways I never imagined I would ever see. It was something that never entered my mind, which is now boggling at the numbers of people who are embracing the new idea that God didn’t really mean what He says in His word.

My opinion is that God doesn’t say or do anything He does not mean. Nor does He make mistakes, which is being implied by certain elements of society. Even churches around the world are rejecting some of what the bible teaches. I know the bible was translated by men, but I do not believe so many men could be making the same mistake in translation.

We do not have the authority to make changes to anything God has declared as His will. Of course, Satan is capable of usurping the minds of those without the armour of God, causing them to think their desires are more important than God’s will. They don’t want God’s approval of their actions, in fact ‘keep God out of it!’ is their war cry. Yes, war cry because that is what it is, Satan wages war on God’s people all the time and what is happening now is just one sortie.

However, if we are not diligent about donning the armour of God, we could be lured into the snare of the evil one.

Paul goes on to say in verses 14-18

Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled round your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

We can be sure that if we stand with God as our King of Kings we will not be beaten.

Prayer

Almighty God, You are our King of Kings and we pledge ourselves to You and Your Kingdom. You know what is going on in the world and it is just as prophesied in the Old Testament, help us to stay true to You and wear our armour with pride in Your Son Jesus Christ without whose sacrifice we would not know our position as Your children. Please let Your armour be the safety of Your children worldwide. In the blessed name of Jesus. Amen
