At this, the administrators and the satraps tried to find grounds for charges against Daniel in his conduct of government affairs,
but they were unable to do so. They could find no corruption in him, because he was trustworthy and neither corrupt nor negligent."Our government ... teaches the whole people by its example. If the government becomes the lawbreaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy".
Who would be a politician? Not me! Not for love nor money, there is no job worse, in my opinion. The present one in Great Britain, does not need to look hard for enemies. I am sure almost everyone will know about the petition for another election, is it possible this could happen? I don’t know and I don’t think I want to suffer more campaigning. However, I have heard more than one complaint in this place, about winter fuel and farmers. Motoring has been moaned about too. Illegal immigration has been mentioned and of course, all the freebies. Happy days!
Romans 13: 1-3 says,
Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. ...
We trust God to know our hearts and those of the government, and that He will not let anything go too wrong. With Jesus in the boat alongside us we know we are in good hands. Let us never stop praying for our government.
In Corson Court, we are already going through some changes, we are being changed from ‘assisted living’ to ‘housing with care’. This means a total change of staff, so we will be getting used to completely new staff from the care sector. D-day is 1 April, and I have mixed emotions about it, having been in here for 10 years and so used to the routine. Although, I am waiting for my sister moving into the next empty flat. That will be good.
There are good and bad things happen every day and we must trust that God will be looking after all our cares. If we trust God, often we can laugh at our mishaps, knowing that nothing happens without His knowledge. God is perfect and all His gifts are perfect, we thank Him daily for His provision because we know our Father is the source of all our bounties.
I used to wonder what I would do when Satan’s mark was the only way to get food and necessities, now I am convinced that God has all that in hand, through Christ, with the holy Spirit giving us strength and courage to deal with those days.
Prayer
Amazing Father, we know we can trust You to look after us in all our coming and going. Please, help us not to lose sleep, knowing that You have all things in Your hands, so we do not need to worry. Lord Jesus pleas give us strength and courage in every circumstance we encounter. Holy Spirit fill us with Your presence at all times, guide us and protect us on our journey in the footsteps of Jesus. Father, there is still so much strife and chaos in the world today, we ask You to protect the vulnerable and aged amid the hatred and violence around the world. Sustain us for the days, weeks and months ahead. Father, we ask these things in Jesus’ blessed name. Amen.
