Isaiah 5:20
Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
Satan is the master of inversion. Where God offers Light, Satan provides darkness. God confers joy, peace, and love. Satan dispenses lies, misery, and bitterness. Satan’s latter-day lies stand in contrast not only to heavenly revelation but even to good research on families and human development. (by H. Wallace Goddard)
My daughter’s partner texted yesterday to tell me that Andrea’s dog had died the night before and she was really upset. I told him I would phone her, but he said she had gone to work. When I called later and spoke to her, she said Toby (the dog) had been poisoned. The police there had been a spate of this happening.
We can all wonder, who would do a thing like that? Whoever did this despicable thing, had come into their garden and given him meat, which was obviously poisoned, evidenced by the piece left, which smelled ‘funny’. I suppose we should be grateful that it was not a person.
Evil seems to be the order of the times. We look around and see the works of the evil one taking over in so many areas of our planet and lives. Followers of Christ are demonised by those who would like to rewrite scripture. We have read about these days coming in Revelation. I have no doubt the end times are upon us, at least the start of them. We will know for sure when Israel starts to build a new temple. The third temple will be the true sign of the coming of the tribulation.
However, wars and violence are escalating, and the followers of Satan are having a field day, convincing many people that the bible is false and that they are fools if they believe the word of God. People whose faith is weak are vulnerable to these words, those who don’t keep up their relationship with God will find these days particularly difficult. Perhaps it is time to increase our time in fellowship with the Trinity of God. We can never spend too much time in that activity, prayers and reading the word of God. No matter how often we have read scripture, we can always find something we have missed before. Or we see something in a different light, having matured in our faith. I pray that everyone reading this thought will be safe in the presence of the Father, Son and holy Spirit.
Prayer
Merciful Father. We give You thanks for everything good we have in our lives, but more than that we thank You for the treasures being stored up for us in heaven, where they cannot decay or die. Let Your holy Spirit live within us, protecting and teaching us how to ignore the whispers of Satan’s followers. Help us to tell everyone the story of the Gospel, giving them the opportunity to turn to Jesus and acknowledge their sins. Help them to seek repentance and forgiveness. Please be with all of us as we pray and read our bibles daily. Let Jesus and the Spirit help us to understand what we read and to discern what is good and what or who we should turn away from. We ask these things in Jesus’ wonderful name, amen.
