Thought for the Day - Wednesday 10 February

Thought for Wednesday 10th February 2021.   (Proverbs 3:1-12) My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you peace and prosperity. Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them round your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favour and a good name in the sight of God and man.   I read the other day about a business man whose dog followed him to the train station every day. When the man was due home after work the dog would go to wait for him getting off the train. One day the man suffered a stroke while at work and never came home again. That didn’t stop the dog. He waited at the station every night at the time he was due to get off the train.   I sometimes think that dogs are more like God than we are. Faithful, loving, trusting, dependable, loyal. many more words could be used to describe a dogs nature. Even when they are mistreated by their master, usually they are loyal. How many of us show that same loyalty to our Master? He never ever mistreats any of His children, at any time, for any reason.   As Jesus says in Matthew 22 v 37 “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”   Prayer Dear Lord, help us to love your word and teaching. Let us never forget them, but to keep your commands in our hearts and minds forever. Teach us to love Father, Son and Holy Spirit in faith and trust. Amen
