Thought for the Day - Saturday 31 October
Thought for the Day – Saturday 31st October
‘I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.’ (Psalm 32:8)
God created us in such a wonderful way and he created within us a whole lot of warning signs too!
Just think of the headaches we might get, the migraines we might suffer, the exhaustion we might feel, the effects of anxiety and stress building within us, the aches and pains which slow us down – all of these are little warning signs and if we are to learn to love ourselves then we need to pay heed to them.
We need to listen to these bodies of ours which God created.
We need to set our own pace and if we feel someone is pushing us then we need to realise it is okay to tell them they are pushing us.
We may even need to learn to stand back and let others take their turn as leaders because there will always be new opportunities for us to step up again.
We need to learn to let go – actually nothing is usually the hardest thing to do – but often it is the best thing to do!
We need to be kinder to ourselves – put our feet up once in a while – you know it does not just improve your circulation it also leads to great feelings of relaxation.
God has his loving eye upon us and he gave us these little signs within us so we know when to stop and refresh ourselves in order that we can continue to be able to serve him as we should.
So relax!
Prayer
Loving God,
You are the refuge we seek when we are troubled, and the courage we need when we venture into dark days. Come, bless us today with your steadfast love and bring calm and peace to our lives. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
